Disunited Workers of the World?

The most memorable passage from “Manifesto of the Communist Party” is the injunction for workers of the world to unite. Today’s account (based on wire service reports) by Al Jazeera English of worker gatherings described quite a few rallies, all around common themes of discontent;  but there was little evidence of any kind of world-wide union.  Indeed, those who were united by the ideology of globalization turned out to be the capitalists and the managers they financed.  The workers remain out of the equation, separated from those beneficiaries by the largest separation of distribution of wealth in economic history.  If that is not an appropriate reflection for May Day, I don’t know what is!
