According to Reuters, the latest USA Today/Gallup poll has six out of ten Americans in support of a timetable for pulling out of Iraq. Those numbers are at least roughly consistent with the voting numbers for the bill that Congress sent to the White House, which means that, if nothing else, the new Congressional leadership is making good on its promise to get both houses back to doing the people's business. While the Congress is busy listening to its constituents, the presidential veto seems to indicate that the President continues to listen to his own "connection" to God. In other words the question of our future in Iraq all comes down to what is the most effective source of input in the decision-making process!
