Cellist Jennifer Kloetzel and pianist Allegra Chapman (from the O1C Web page for their coming performance)
The only performance to be presented this month by Old First Concerts (O1C) will take place two weeks from today (which is basically the middle of the month). This will mark the beginning of the Women of Note multi-season project conceived by cellist Jennifer Kloetzel and pianist Allegra Chapman. Their objective is to celebrate music composed for cello and piano by women. As of this writing, specific selections have not yet been announced, but the contributing composers will be Hélène Liebmann, Luise Le Beau, Mel Bonis, and Leokadiya Kashperova.
Most readers probably know by now that O1C events take place at Old First Presbyterian Church. This is located at 1751 Sacramento Street on the southeast corner of Van Ness Avenue. The performance will begin at 8 p.m. on Friday, October 16. Tickets are available for purchase through the hyperlink attached to that date, and the performance will also be available for live-stream viewing. General admission will be $30 with reduced rates for seniors, students, and children age twelve and under. The O1C Web page includes the hyperlink for live-stream viewing, leading to a YouTube Web page, which, in turn, includes a hyperlink to encourage viewers to support O1C with a donation.
